Deconstructing Denim

Deconstructing Denim

Denim Deconstruct Project  – 2nd year NCAD students are challenged to subvert traditional denim design.

Using any method available from painting, dying and bleaching to embroidery, layering and rouching techniques, these students look to turn the purity and simplicity of the basic denim piece into something imaginative.

Having taken inspiration from Jeff Koons, nunneries, painting with silicone, anatomy, Victorian mourning, cactuses play tennis, gender bending, lampshades and their own photography, they then sent us the results.
