This Is Me Films: Susie Bubble

THIS IS ME is a Prowlster-produced series showcasing some of the most talented individuals in Ireland and in the UK. Filmed by Paul Mahon, and shot by Rich Gilligan, this month we follow style writer and fashion blogger Susie Bubble. For more on the series, click here or check out the first four installments with rock climber Neal McQuaid, BMXer Jason Phelan, London illustrator Kate Moross, and Cork band Young Wonder.

Susanna Lau – or Susie Bubble, as she is known to her 200,000 Twitter followers – is one of London’s most popular style bloggers. A down-to-earth fashion, food and football fanatic with a passion for colourful, quirky clothing, she set up her seminal blog, Style Bubble, in 2006 while studying history at university.

Originally, Style Bubble was her escape from academic life – she never thought of fashion as a career opportunity. But her personal style struck a chord with followers, and soon her part-time passion became all-consuming. She followed college with a stint as the editor of Dazed Digital, and she’s now a full-time writer and blogger.

But Susie isn’t all about statement shorts and ruby slippers. She’s also an enthusiastic foodie, and can talk for days about the importance of fresh sushi and the perfect consistency of decent ramen. And, when she wants to leave fashion behind for a few hours, she goes to the Emirates to watch her beloved Arsenal.

Stylist. Writer. Foodie. Gooner ‘till she dies. You can follow Susie on Twitter here or on her blog.
